New Harmony, UT- Al Bland, 74, September 18, 2016 died in St. George, UT.

Al was born to Claude and Ardith Bland in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was married to Shana Bland and had been married for 33 years.

Al was raised in Salt Lake City and would later call Colorado and California home before settling in New Harmony. Al served in the military, played baseball in college, coached All Star Baseball, worked at the Air Force Academy, owned multiple businesses that all included food like his ice cream parlor Soda Straw. He took his 5 children to the triple crown horse races and had one the greatest moments of his life when he saw the Triple Crown Winner American Pharaoh. He enjoyed watching a good Denver Bronco game with an ice cold beer. Al had a passion for cooking and feeding everyone who walked through his door especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Al was a man who lived life to the fullest and made sure to invite everyone along with him because to him all people were his friends.

A BBQ and small service will be held in his memory at Noon on September 24, 2016 at the family home in New Harmony, Utah. 503 South 3430 East New Harmony, UT.
