Alta Lavon Tolman

March 3, 1936 — November 19, 2016

Heaven gained another angel Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 9:03 p.m. Mom graduated from this earthly life and passed peacefully to return to her Heavenly Father, with her family by her side. She was 80 years old.

LaVon was born March 3, 1936 to Willard Dewain (Dutch) Bell and Marjory Eggleston, in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. She was the oldest of five siblings.

She married Jerry Evans Primm in 1952. They had four children, and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple June of 1961, and later divorced. She married Marriner Viegel Tolman in 1969 and they were sealed in the St. George Temple in 2013. They had one son together.

She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many callings, among them were Relief Society president, she served in the Jordan River Temple as an ordinance worker, she was an awesome primary teacher. She had many hobbies, some were making quilts, she crocheted the blessing dresses for almost all of the grandchildren and a baby afghan to go with it. She loved to garden, sew and bake rolls and bread.

She is preceded in death by her Husband Marriner (Mern) Tolman, parents Dewain (Dutch) and Marjory Eggleston Bell, Brother Blaine Bell, Sister Elaine Walton, and a grandchild Baby Dean Conrad.

She is survived by Children Marie (Dan) Payne, Mike (Ruth) Primm, Sandra DeVore, Kaye Primm, Dewain (Angela) Tolman, 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

We want to thank Dixie Home and Hospice for the great care they offered not just to mom but to the family as well. And the Hurricane 6th ward for their compassionate service.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Hurricane 6th ward located at 677 South 700 West Hurricane, Utah. Interment will take place in the Hurricane City Cemetery.
