In the early morning of September 29, 2016, after enduring years of illness and debilitating pain, Arleen was reunited with her cherished husband Ed. Arleen was born in Long Beach, California on April 25, 1937 to Don Carlos Monson and Olive Arline Wilson.
Arleen married her sweetheart Edwin “Ed” in Long Beach California on October 13, 1956. They never spent an anniversary apart and were truly united in all their pursuits. Their life together as best friends was one of mutual devotion and unwavering love. They lived in Ogden Utah, Boise Idaho and Bountiful, Utah before settling in the sunshine and beauty of Santa Clara, Utah. Arleen was a gifted homemaker, treasured friend, devoted wife and loving Mom and Grandma.
Arleen was raised in Brigham City Utah where she graduated from Box Elder High School in 1955. She worked as a telephone operator and a dental assistant before starting her family. Arleen took courses in business and accounting at Weber State College to help with the family business (ENTRE, Inc.). Later Arleen worked in accounts payable at Franklin Covey and then at Dixie State College, retiring in 2006. She continued to work part time at the Testing Center with Ed until January 2014.
Arleen was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in all of the auxiliaries over the years and was an especially dedicated Relief Society President, a role in which she truly served as the Savior did. The life she lived of unwavering support and unconditional love for Ed, her children, her grandchildren, extended family and friends will be her legacy.
