Arnold Kent Dummar, 79, died January 17, 2025 in Draper, Utah. 

Kent was born July 13, 1945 in Long Beach, California to Beth (Ball) and Richard Dummar. He married Amy Brown on August 28, 1970 in the Oakland California Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They were married for 50 years before Amy’s death.

Kent grew up in Southern California. He and Amy and their family moved between Arizona, Utah, and California, before settling in St. George, UT in 2004. 

Kent served in the US Navy from 1966 to 1969, assigned to the USS Sabalo as an engineman, based out of San Diego, CA. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Throughout his life, Kent worked as a plastering contractor, and then as a truck driver. 

Kent is preceded in death by his wife Amy Brown Dummar, and son Adam Lee Dummar. Survived by children Jennifer Beth (Eddie) Hornback, Christopher Kent Dummar, and Matthew Brown Dummar, as well as eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also survived by brothers Ron Dummar and Furel Dummar.

A private service will be held at a later time. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery, under the direction of McMillan Mortuary.
