Bonita Williams

September 23, 2036 — May 20, 2015

Bonita Chinn Williams, age 78, peacefully returned to Heavenly Father on May 20, 2015. She died from the effects of strokes (vascular dementia). She was born September 23, 1936 in Waldron, Arkansas, the 4th child of Marcus Theodore Chinn and Pearl Ortman Chinn. Her family moved every few years as Her Dad was a Nazarene Minister in Arkansas, Kansas & Oklahoma.

When the family moved to Boise City, Oklahoma, Bonita met and married her high school sweetheart

Donald H. Williams on June 18, 1954. After their marriage they moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They later divorced and he preceded her in death on November 16, 2011.

On January 29, 1957 their only child was born, Dowanna Kay Williams (Cox).

Bonita was a very loving nurturing Mother.

Bonita loved children and especially babies and in her later years she grew to love all kinds of animals, especially her dogs. With the birth of each of her 5 grand daughters, She traveled to Arizona and Utah from her home in Oklahoma to love and nurture the new little ones. They were the love of her life!  She especially enjoyed the few years that she was able to live near the grandchildren in Hurricane, Utah and more recently enjoyed when the 8 great grand children came for visits.

She was especially close to her sister Virginia Weir, her cousin Cree House and her best friend of 48 years, who she adopted as her sister, Jan Lacke.

Bonita worked as an accountant, receptionist, and switch board operator and enjoyed her time at Scholzen Products in southern Utah.

Bonita enjoyed sewing, embroidery and creating beautiful pieces.

We want to thank the nurses,CNA, and therapist from Dixie Home Health and Hospice, and Mary Ricks.

She is survived by her only daughter and favorite son-in-law, Larin & Dowanna Cox, of Hurricane, Utah; her sisters Virginia Weir & Jan Lacke, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Granddaughter, Crystal (Justin) Parkinson, of Kuna, Idaho;  Camille (Erik) Thompson, of Meridian, Idaho; Kristen (Tyler) Westover, of Provo, Utah; Celestia (Chase) Roberts, of Mesa, Arizona and Kayla Cox of Hurricane, Utah.
