Bryce Beesley

d. February 4, 2015

Bryce Davis Beesley joined his sister Susan and his brothers Bret and Blake when he was 2 weeks old having started life weighing only slightly more than 4 pounds. He was welcomed and loved by his grandparents as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was able to spend time with his Grandma and Grandpa Beesley since they lived so close and he had to endure being baby sat by his sister Susan and her friend Ruthie. He started a special relationship with Grandma Davis before he ever started school and over the next two dozen years that bond became ever closer until her death.

Bryce started his school years at Howard R Driggs elementary. He was always creative and excelled in those subjects where seeing from a different prospective made a difference. He was intelligent and could do well with any subject where he had an interest. He also had an adventuresome spirit. While living in Idaho, he and Heather stayed occupied by doing things that Bryce would think of, such as riding tubes down the snake river for over 10 miles, not a safe thing to do. In the winter, Bryce thought it would be fun to ride their bicycles in the snow but that didn't last very long.

During his teen years, he first showed his entrepreneurial and sales talents. During his senior year, while attending high school in Idaho Falls, he single handedly raised as much money for a fundraiser as the rest of the group added together because he was willing to go to business owners and ask for larger sales. Bryce could be a great salesman when he was motivated by what he was selling. Later, that same year, he and a couple of friends opened a video business in a nearby town and in the process, Bryce convinced a local judge to sell him a building on a contract. The building housed the video business as well as having several apartments which they rented out. He became so involved with the business that he quit going to school and as a result did not graduate with his class that year.

Bryce attended Olympus High the following year and did graduate but only after completing an assignment on the very last day possible to still be allowed to graduate. After that, he worked at a number of jobs, most involved with the food industry. He really enjoyed being a server and always liked to cook and experiment with new recipes. One of his creations occurred when he wanted to make guacamole but because avocados were expensive, he decided he could make it from green peas, so he made "peamole". It was not good but it provided many laughs and fond memories. Within the last year, a magazine that printed recipes actually had a recipe for "peamole". This was actually not an unusual event for Bryce. There were several times when he would come up with an idea and then within a year or two, that idea would be on the market. He was always looking for new ideas or a different way to accomplish a task. One of his ideas involved making pizza with a different style crust. After working in several pizza places, he decided to open his own business and use his idea for the crust. His end product was good and he had a growing business but was forced to close or move with a property ownership change. He chose to close.

One of his later ideas involved his love for crocheting. He wanted to make and market a crochet hook with a light built into the end but such a venture required more money than he had available. Within 2 years, such a product was on the market. He frequently would express an idea for a new product or a new process for making a product.

At a time in his life when his health was being challenged greatly, he learned of a new product that might be what he needed but it was just in the testing stage. Trials were being done but he had just missed the closing of trials with that group. He continued to pursue this with the drug company and after about a hundred phone calls, he was put into a 2nd trial group In Las Vegas. He had to travel there once a month but within a couple of months the product was made available to him so he could inject it himself by using air pressure to shoot the medication through the skin. The trial was a success for him.

As computer technology advanced, Bryce found another talent. He learned to do almost anything one could imagine within his limited resources. Whether he was designing products or building a web site, Bryce understood how it was done. He was the one so many others looked to for solving their computer problems. He will be sorely missed by those who have relied on his technical knowledge. No more will so many be able to say, "call Bryce and he can tell you how to fix your computer problem".

After he had lived in his condo a couple of years, he felt that there were some things that needed to be addressed and changed, so he became involved by being on the HOA board. Thanks to him, several major changes were made that have and will continue to have a positive effect on the Starcrest condos. He remained active on the board, even participating in board meeting by internet and phone while he was spending time in St. George. In addition to making changes that lasted for the condos, Bryce also made changes in people who came to his condo. He had an open door policy for anyone who had a need for a place to stay or needed an ear to listen or maybe just needed to have someone to hang out with. He had his good days and his bad days as we all do but through the good and the bad, he was always available to share time and whatever else he had with his friends and family.

His circle of friends was ever expanding and he was always on call when a friend needed assistance or needed to be picked up and dusted off. In addition to the friends who can be here today, he leaves good friends in Mexico and Korea who would like to have been able to tell you what positive effect he had on their lives. He touched many lives with his actions and many by his writing where he was able to exhibit the sensitive and tender hearted person that was Bryce. Anyone who saw the tender care he gave to his little dogs or has read the book he wrote about them could not doubt the quality of this man. While Bryce occasionally had a temper and often did not feel well, he was the most caring, sharing, helpful in any way possible, friend that anyone could ever have. That space he leaves in the hearts of many will be impossible to fill.

A casual Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon, Sat Feb 14, 2015 at the Brookstone Condominium Clubhouse, 1630 E 6400 S, Murray, Utah.
