Carol Jean Lee Collard
May 14, 1950 - August 17, 2014
Our loving, caring, and spunky wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt and special friend passed away from a lingering illness, surrounded by family, at her new home in St. George, UT on August 17, 2014.
She is survived by her husband Bill Collard, children; Jeanna Wang, Angie Garcia and Michael Gohlinghorst, stepchildren; Kent (Brenda), Annette (Travis), Tony (Wendy) and Candice, grandchildren; Kaylee, Dylan, Baily, Cheyenne, Madison, McKinna, Chloe, Charlie, and Myles. Carol was born in Fargo, ND to Harold and Ruth Lee (both deceased). She had 6 siblings; Pat, Gary, Mary Jo, Jimmy, Sandy, Donna, and many nieces and nephews.
Growing up in Casselton, ND she was always proud to be known as one of those "Lee Girls". Carol never let cancer identify who she was and lived every day to it's fullest! Very few people knew of the four victories over cancer she had won. She always bragged, "I never get a cold or the flu, just cancer". Everyone she met was left with a positive feeling about themselves and the world they lived in. She lived her life with class, dignity and a smile. Carol made everyone feel comfortable and important. She loved her husband, children, family, friends, and her extended family at Rowland Hall St. Marks School, where she worked for 25 years. She loved her cabin in Idaho, watching bear and moose at their critter spa, and cruising through Yellowstone on the back of the Harley. Carol Jean worked hard remodeling her home in Bountiful, helping Bill build their cabin, and recently designing and landscaping their new St. George home. She continued working and traveling to see family and friends up until being bed ridden just one short week ago.
We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to Dr. Anna Beck of Huntsman and Dr. Brian Tudor of Dixie Regional.
Charitable Contributions may be made in Carol’s name to the Deyton Foundation in care of Dixie Hospice 352 E. Riverside Dr. B3, St. George, UT 84790
