Chance Douglas LeSueur, 26, unexpectedly passed away in his sleep on June 5th, 2023 in Hurricane, Utah. Chance was born on July 3rd, 1996 in Mesa, Arizona to Doug & Lauri LeSueur. Chance spent the first 11 years of his life growing up in Mesa, where he loved swimming, camping, sports, playing at the park, eating pizza, and spending time with his family, aunts, uncles, & cousins.
He loved celebrating his birthdays with a pool party & bbq dinners. Chance always thought the 4th of July fireworks were celebrating him. In 2007, Chance’s family moved to St. George, Utah. As Chance grew up and got into his teen years, he developed a true love of music and art. He loved many types of music but especially loved rap, and had a talent to “beat box” and sling around glow sticks. He loved putting on “light-shows” for his family and friends, and also enjoyed drawing and creating art. Chance was known for having the biggest heart, full of love for his friends and family, along with a big contagious smile.
He was very quick-witted and always had a clever way of making people laugh! Everyone loved his sense of humor. Chance was very loving and caring towards others, often placing others needs before his own. Chance also experienced addiction in his life, battling to overcome the chains and bonds addiction caused him, robbing part of his life of peace and serenity he desperately sought.
Towards the final couple years of his life, he started reaching outward towards recovery. Especially during the final few months, where he was starting to find greater joy and happiness working recovery, building a closer connection to his family and his recovery friends! We will all miss Chance and his bigger than life heart, and contagious smile of sunshine he so graciously shared with others.
Chance is survived by his parents, Doug & Lauri LeSueur, and his siblings; Dwight (Cherise) Lane, Nathan LeSueur, Chelsea Anderson, Bryce (Brianna) Lane, Colten LeSueur, Tanner (Ciara Daniel) LeSueur, Cierra (James) Green, Kaden (Sophia) LeSueur, Jarron LeSueur, and many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with 13 nieces and nephews who adore him!
