Claude Tinnin

Claude Patrick Tinnin, age 85 passed away May 23, 2022 in Ivins Utah Southern Utah VA Home. Pat was born at home to his parents Claude Eustace Tinnin and Mildred Lorene Brooks. Pat married his high school sweetheart, Carol RheaThrower in April 1957, later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Married 60 years.

Pat was raised and attended school in Kennett, MO. He was involved in track, baseball, basketball and was captain of the football team. He married the Homecoming Queen. Upon graduation he joined the United States Air Force, he was stationed in Iceland and then to the Air Force base in Colorado Springs, CO. Pat attended UCCS and graduated with his Bachelors degree. He later attended Utah State College in Logan, Utah, where he received his Masters degree. He taught at Salt Lake Community College, Arkansas State & local high schools. Pat loved all outdoor sports and could be found playing on most any golf course in town or playing basketball with his son-in-laws. He also was the pitcher for many softball teams. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing all of the beautiful lakes in Utah. Together they raised 6 children in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He is survived by his sister, Claudette Walker (TX), Tracy (Joe) Peterson, Kelly (Gary) Scott, Robin (Russ) Facer, Mike (Denise) Tinnin, Meredith (Steve) Wilson, Matt (Leslie) Tinnin. 15 Grandchildren and 27 Great Grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wife, parents and 2 brothers.

Graveside services will be Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00am at Washington City Cemetery. It will be a private service.
