Cliff Elmore 8/18/1940 - 5/2/2022
If you are reading this, I have died at the age of 81 of Alzheimer's Disease. I was living at the Veteran's Home in Ivins, Utah when I died.
I married Judy West in Salt Lake City September 17, 1983 and we were living in Dammeron Valley near St. George, Utah before I went to live in the Veteran's Home.
I was born in Boise, Idaho to LaVonna and Walter Elmore and I spent a happy childhood in Idaho as part of a large, close-knit, loving family. After I graduated from high school, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for four years.
I earned a BS degree from BYU majoring in history and later went on to earn a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. I worked as a social worker in Adult and Aging Services for the State of Utah. After Judy and I retired, we travelled to Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii and Central America. I learned to fly a plane and enjoyed camping and hiking. I am a member of the LDS Church and was active in church until I could no longer contribute due to Alzheimers.
I leave behind one brother, Leo (Elizabeth), and four sisters: Arda, Nancy, Velma and Georgia. My parents preceded me in death as well as several of my siblings and one of my children.
During my life I was married to three different women--Linda, Wanda, and Judy and was the father of nine children--Ukiah, Eve, Jonna, Quetzal, Dean, Nathan, Meiku and Ginger. One child, Val, died as a toddler. I was a stepfather to James, Frank, Michael, Cathy and Bob. I have many grandchildren and they have been an important part of my life.
My family will have a small memorial service at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Veterans Home for their excellent care during my time there.
