Daniel Walter Hopkins passed away at his home in Veyo, Utah on May 12, 2018 with his loving wife beside him. He was born September 16, 1944 in Caliente, Nevada to William and Clara Hopkins. Dan was one of the last true cowboys. He worked much of his younger life as a ranch hand, and a long haul trucker there after.
He was a hard worker who loved to train and ride horses. He spent many hours riding horses on top Pine Valley Mountain. He was a Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran, who took pride in serving his country. Dan also enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour books, and studying Native American history.
He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, son Shane and grandson Aaron, and four of his siblings.
He is survived by his wife Catherine, son Bryan Hopkins (Cindi) daughter Sabrina Moran, daughter Des Rea Burgess (Wally) son Brent Hopkins (Rizza) daughter Misty Mattson (Chris) 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 siblings.
Dan’s last wishes were not to have any funeral services. His family will celebrate his life on his favorite trail on top Pine Valley Mountain.
