Darin Rasmussen

December 19, 1968 — August 23, 2019

Washington, Utah

Darin T Rasmussen, 50, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2019 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. His father Darris and brother-in-law Dave Forsyth were by his side when he died.

He was born on December 19, 1968 in Encino, California to Darris T and Marilyn Holladay (deceased) Rasmussen.  He married Diane Ellett who preceded him in death.  Diane had three children, Elizabeth, Layton, and Landon whom they raised.

Darin was raised in Lindon, Utah and attended schools in Lindon and Pleasant Grove, Utah.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He was very involved in studying the scriptures; his goal once was to memorize the Book of Mormon.  He studied the scriptures on a regular basis.

He moved to Vernal, Utah for a couple years when he was 14 years old, he loved Vernal.  He loved his cousins and especially his Aunt Colleen, they would go fishing together. His mother, Marilyn loved to fish also, they bonded and had a wonderful time together.

Darin is survived by his father Darris T Rasmussen, and his two sisters Sonja (Dave) Forsyth of St. George, Utah and Cynthia Graham of Henderson, Nevada.  He also has many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He worked mainly in construction.  He had his own business washing windows called “Streakfree Window Cleaning”.  He was tall and slender, 6’5”, his nickname was ‘Stretch’.  With his long body and long arms he could reach high places; the construction crews loved that.

He will certainly be missed, but he is in a better place now free from pain and challenges.  I’m sure his mother Marilyn and his wife Diane were waiting for him with open arms.
