Dean Harnes

Dean Leroy Harnes, 86, passed away on February 23, 2020 in St. George, Utah.

He joins his wife Patricia, who preceded him in death.

Dean was born April 17, 1933 in Taft, California to Claude and Violet Harnes, followed by his brother Dick. Two sisters followed after Violet remarried: Linda and Janet.

He joined the Navy in 1953 where he served his country with honor for 22 years. He then followed that with a full career with PG&E as a security supervisor at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.

Dean’s first marriage to Ruthie produced 4 children: Daryl, Duane, Sandy and Sheryl.

His second marriage to Patricia expanded the family with the addition of Patricia's children, Ernie, Paul, Jon and Laurie.

And later that family expanded to many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dean lived a long and wonderfully full life and was loved by all who knew him.  He will truly be missed.

Graveside services will be held at Atascadero Cemetery on March 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM.

Refreshments will be available at the LDS church following the service at 2600 Ramona Road in Atascadero, California 93422.
