Dee Milo Gregory

December 7, 1939 — January 26, 2025

St George

Dee Milo Gregory, age 85, passed away on January 26, 2025, from complications of dementia. He was born on December 7, 1939, in Provo, Utah, to John Milo and Maureen Hair Gregory. Dee graduated from Murray High School and the University of Utah. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed both in the United States and France.

On December 21, 1962, Dee married Carol Wiechman. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 21, 1980. Together, Dee and Carol served a mission in Spain for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and settled in St. George, Utah after their mission. Dee was a devoted member of the Church, with his favorite calling being Branch President of the SunRiver 2nd Ward.

Professionally, Dee retired as Senior Vice President and Head of Business Banking at BankOne. Outside of work, he embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a passion for learning. He had a lifelong love for sports cars and enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing. A testament to his determination, Dee achieved his goal of running a marathon every decade—at ages 38, 48, and 58.

Even in his later years, Dee’s curiosity and zest for life remained strong. He studied Spanish, learned to play the guitar in his 70s (even performing with a group in front of an audience), and found inspiration in stoic philosophy.

Dee is survived by his wife, Carol of St. George; his son, Alan of Salt Lake City (and his wife, Debbie Davis Gregory); his daughter, Jean Singleton of Diamond Valley (and her husband, Jeff Singleton); his sister, Kaye Pearson of Lake Pointe; his brother, Michael Gregory of South Jordan; and his grandchildren: Brittany Lerma (and her husband, Berto) of Salt Lake City; Addison Koloa (and her husband, Teki) of South Jordan; Madelyn Davis (and her husband, Tyge) of St. George; and Mitchell Gregory (and his wife, Rylee Buntjer Gregory) of Mapleton, Utah. He is also survived by his favorite (and only) great-grandson, King Koloa.

Dee will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, commitment to family and faith, and unending pursuit of knowledge and experiences.
