Dewey grew up in Montpelier, Idaho with a love for the outdoors, boxing, and watching out for his brothers and sisters. Dewey was honored to serve his country as a US Army infantryman during WWII where he fought in Normandy, northern France, and the Rhineland as part of General Patton's third army. His life continued in service to his Heavenly Father, his family, and to his fellowmen. Dewey was an active member of the LDS church where he served faithfully in many callings and humbly honored his priesthood. Dewey was no respecter of persons and loved and served people from all walks of life with the same sincerity. There was not a person who met him who did not deeply respect his character. He sacrificed much of his own needs and wants to serve his family and friends. There was not a person living who could out work him. He was tireless in living and working towards what he taught.
Dewey is survived by his five awesome children: Michael (Darla) Pugmire; Ann (William) Graff; Cathy (Joel) Olson; Lindsay (Esther) Pugmire; Tammi (Rob) Thomson. He is also survived by his Brother, Jerry Pugmire; Sister, Betty Rae (Doward) Bronson; 21 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
His family is deeply grateful for the loving care he received at Ridgeview Gardens assisted living center and Rocky Mountain Hospice care.
