Don G. Williams, 90, was born in Murray, Utah, to Samuel LeRoy and Annie Margaret Gillen Williams. Don married Elaine Isackson in 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Together they had four children, Don Gerald (Marsha), David Ivar (Penny), Kenneth Lynn (Becky), and Janice Larsen (Diane Flaim). They have 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
At 17, Don joined the Navy working as an airplane mechanic during WWII. After completing three years of service, he went to work for Kennecott Copper and Honeywell as an Electrical Engineer. He then owned and operated his own business, Industrial Instruments.
Don was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many positions including Bishop of the Union 6th Ward for five years. He and Elaine served missions for the Church in Pennsylvania and Alabama. Following their missions, Don and Elaine moved to St. George, Utah. Don lived the last year of his life in the Southern Utah Veterans Home in Ivins, Utah.
Don loved everyone and everyone loved him. He loved to fish, fish, fish! He also loved to hunt, golf, and travel but his greatest love was his wife Elaine and his family.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Margaret Taylor (Bud), Eva Belcher (David), Beth Mitchell (Albert), Ella, Elda, and his brothers Elmo (Lois), Roy (Ada), and Rex (Millie). Also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Penny.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Morningside Second Ward, 879 S. River Road, St. George, Utah. A viewing prior to the service will be from 9:30 to 10:45 am. Interment and brief graveside service at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 10600 S. 1700 E, Sandy, Utah, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
