Donald Goddard

July 27, 1927 — November 24, 2016

Donald Dean Goddard passed away November 24, 2016 following complication from a fall and two surgeries. Don was born July 27, 1927 to Ralph Edgar Goddard and Grace Mae Jamison Goddard in Anaheim California.

Don started work early delivering Western Union telegrams on his bike. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He drove truck until he finished school and became a teacher. He later became president of the Long Beach Teacher Association and served state wide with the California Teachers Association.

Don and Carol Wright were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in 1956. When Don and Carol retired from teaching in California they moved to Leeds Utah. They farmed, raised cattle and a couple of horses. He was active in the Leeds Fire Department and with the Leeds Water Co. He served as a second counselor with Bishop Ray Beal in the Leeds 2nd Ward and in many other callings. He was a positive influence to family and friends. He was a hard worker and always willing to help.

Don is survived by his wife Carol, son Donald Gerald (Catherine), daughter Celest Stratton (Lyman), Brent Hogan (Don was his Father figure), two nephews Tom and Dan Dryer, four grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the Leeds chapel located at 75 N. Main Street.
