Dorothy Bracken

Dorothy Crosby Bracken, 81, died January 10, 2018 peacefully at home. She was born December 10, 1936 in Panguitch, Utah to Silas Owens Crosby and Nellie LeFevre Crosby.

On June 29, 1956 she married Boyd K. Bracken in the Manti LDS Temple. They spent their first year of marriage in San Francisco, California. They returned home to the Salt Lake Valley, bought their home in Magna where they lived happily for 49 years, raising 6 children. The last 10 years they have lived in Washington City Utah.

Dorothy was an active member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully in many callings throughout her life. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved sewing for her family. She also made 50 wedding dresses for friends and family. She was known for her beautiful soprano voice, and sang publicly from her childhood on.

She is survived by her husband Boyd; her six children, Cindy (Jerry) Garvin, Brenda (Mike) Jensen, John (Jane) Bracken, Steven (Karen) Bracken, Bonnie (Jeff) Garcia, Heather (Ryan) Allred; 28 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; brother Douglas (Loretta) Crosby; sister, Mary Ann (Jim) Giles; sisters in law, Pat Guyman Crosby Burns and Shari Evans Crosby Fisher; and brother in law Byron R. Bracken.

Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dan and Wallace, sister Gwen, grandson Paul Garvin, and great-grandson Matteo Jensen.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Washington Main Street Chapel, 82 N Main St, Washington, Utah.  A visitation will be prior to services from 12:00-1:30pm at the same location. Interment, Washington City Cemetery.
