Then on leave, she married Captain Jack W. Jenkins on December 21, 1944 in Denver, Colorado. He was 22 and she was 23. When Jack returned from war, Eleanor joined him in California. Then the family, with the addition of two boys and one girl, moved to Detroit, Michigan. Another move to Aspen, Colorado where she and Jack taught skiing fro 20 years, ran the Copper Horse Ski Hostel, and raised their three children. Eleanor’s coffee cakes and "good" cooking keep the guests happy and always coming back year after year! Life brought Eleanor and Jack to St. George, Utah in 1991. Eleanor worked at the Dixie Inn as a tour guide. She enjoyed helping rear her grandsons Cory and Cassidy and was able to nurse and be a support to her daughter, Melissa and family. Throughout the years, Eleanor collected antiques all over the USA. She gave many enjoyable lectures on the subject, and was well known for her knowledge and expertise. In 2009, Eleanor joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2010, she was sealed to Jack in the St. George LDS Temple. Eleanor and Jack would have had their 70th anniversary this December 21st. Up until the week of her passing, Eleanor attended church meeting regularly and always had a smile and pleasant hello for everyone.
