Elizabeth Hart

March 20, 1943 — August 3, 2015

On August 3, 2015, my soul left for heaven with mixed emotions, sadness for all I left behind and happiness to be with all who had gone before me. I thank everyone for all the great memories.

On March 20, 1943, I was brought into this world in Ogden, Utah by my sweet and loving mother, Elizabeth Marie Keseling Hart, and my challenging and complex father, William Maurice Hart, Sr. I was the third of five children; William Maurice Hart, Jr., Patricia Ann Hart Hayes, Karen Jeanne Hart and Steven Jay Hart (Cherri).

My childhood consisted of everything and anything related to being a neighborhood “Tom Boy” and loving sports. I graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1961, Utah State University in 1965 (BS) and 1971 (MS) and the University of Utah in 1974 (PhD).

My collegiate teaching, athletic coaching and athletic administration career took me to five states over 33 years. It was a perfect match for me and full of growth and fun experiences.  Upon retirement in 1998 to St. George, UT, I asked for at least 10 healthy years so I could enjoy playing golf, puttering in my yard and creating things in my workshop.  I am grateful that my good genes bought me even more enjoyable retirement time with good friends, family and pets in the warm sunshine and colorful countryside.

I especially want to share my heartfelt love and appreciation to Dixie, my longtime companion and spouse. I couldn’t have wished for a more loyal, trustworthy and caring person. I was so much better for her part in my life.

Well, as my ashes are scattered in places I hold dear, I sign off--thanks again to all--it was a full and fun ride.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the St. George Dove Center or PAWS.
