Emily Christiansen

Our dear Emily passed away on December 16, 2015 in St George, UT.  Emily was born in the old red brick Weakley County Hospital in Martin, TN on a cold November 29, 1947 to Herschel L and Evelyn McGehee Penick of Sharon, TN.  She grew up on the family farm 5 miles west of Sharon, TN and graduated from Sharon High School.

In the summer of 1968 she moved to Utah.  On August 2, 1968 Emily married Larry D Christiansen (deceased 1989).   Emily lived in various Utah towns before settling in St George more than 20 years ago.

Emily always had an active imagination, a quick wit, was friendly and outgoing, made friends easily, and had a real flare for interior design.  She enjoyed watching movies from the 1940s and 1950s, HGTV and historical programs.  Sometimes Emily would set her alarm to get up at 2 am so she could watch, “The Castles of Scotland” on TV.

Proceeded in death by her parents and grandparents .  She is survived by her two daughters, Andrea Christiansen Fernelius and husband, Jon, of Elk Ridge, UT  and Debra Christiansen Jacobson of St George, UT, four grandchildren, Emily, Alyssa and Jonathon Fernelius and Brandon Jacobson, her aunt, Yvonne McGehee Sorge of Ridgeland, MS and many nephews and nieces.  Emily is survived by her siblings, Evangeline Penick Beauduy  of  Dallas, TX, Wayne Penick of Washington, UT and Mary Penick Ziegler of El Mirage, AZ.

A Private memorial service will be held.
