Eula Gailey Walker

Eula Gailey Walker, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend, passed away on October 12th, 2016 surrounded by her loving husband Stanley Walker, and other family members.
She was born on March 13, 1935 to Edwin E. and Elizabeth (Maggie) Gailey in Syracuse, Utah. She was blessed with 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
She met the love of her life, Stanley J. Walker, also from Syracuse and were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 15, 1955. She would have walked to the end of the earth for her eternal companion. Together they had 6 children-Jan, Brian, Terry, Gail, Scott and Jill. She lived her entire life in Davis County Utah.
Eula taught all of her children how to work, (HARD). During her life, together Stan and Eula had a few businesses, where they developed some long-term friendships. Young World Day Care Centers located both in Bountiful and North Salt Lake, where they were loved by parents and children alike, and had a great impact on the lives of many children. They as owned the Woodland Manor Apartments located in North Salt Lake. Together they served an LDS Mission to the new Conference Center in Salt Lake City. They were called originally for 18 months, but because of their love for the calling, served for 5 years. In 2000 Eula as nominated as the “Mother of the Year” for the city of North Salt Lake.
Eula liked to be at home and she loved to cook. Homemade bread delivered to many neighbors, soups, and especially her fried chicken. The grandchildren’s favorite dish was homemade Macaroni and Cheese. She was always serving other people. She never thought about herself, it was always about those in need. That is what we as a family respected the most about her.
Eula was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including Primary Teacher, Young Women’s Presidency, and Primary Presidency . She loved the Lord and loved to serve him.
She is survived by her Husband Stanley J. Walker, her 6 children-Jan (Scott) Symes, Brian (Linda) Walker, Terry (Kay) Walker, Gail (Frank) Volkert, Scott (Susan) Walker, Jill (Kirk) LaPlace, Brothers Van, and Sisters Adele and Genene.
She was preceeded in death by her parents Edwin and Maggie Gailey, her brothers Boyd, Wells, Neil, Garth, Verge and granddaughter Amber Walker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 11:00am at the LDS Chapel located at 2230 South 350 East, Kaysville, Utah. 84037. Visitation will begin at 9:45am.
Interment at the Syracuse Utah City Cemetery.
