Florence Romberger

Florence Mortensen Romberger passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 surrounded by beloved family members. She was born March 31, 1930 to Bart Ward Mortensen and Vera Elma Mortensen in Parowan, Utah. Florence was raised in Parowan and graduated from Parowan High School where she was the editor and artist for the school newspaper and yearbook. She married Norman Wayne Romberger in the St. George Temple on December 9, 1948. She served in multiple church callings and was president of the Cedar City North Elementary School PTA. Florence was an amazing, loving wife and mother and welcomed all into her home. No one ever left her home hungry. She was also known for her incredible skills in the making of beautiful draperies and was an amazing seamstress making clothes for her children and others. She and Norman took their children on many camping trips and other exciting adventures.

Florence raised her children in Cedar City, Utah where Norman was an elementary and then a middle school teacher. For her last four years she resided at Spring Gardens Senior Living Center located in St George Utah where she received excellent and loving care.

She is proceeded in death by her sweetheart hus- band Norman, her parents, her brother Norman and her sisters Lila, Elma and Dolline. Surviving siblings are Zella Schramm (Darryl) and Wayne Mortensen (Yetta). Her surviving children are Bon- nie Robinson (Ron) Lehi Utah, Larry Romberger (Susan) St. George Utah, Mark M. Romberger (Carol) St. George Utah, Sheryl Syndergaard (Curly) Paragonah Utah, Mary Powell (Clyde) Portland Oregon and Vance Romberger (Andria) Enoch Utah. She has twenty-three grandchildren, sixty-four great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at the LDS chapel located at 725 South 1100 West, Cedar City, Utah. A public viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 am prior to funeral services. In lieu of flowers please donate to the LDS Humanitarian fund or other charitable organization of your choice.
