Frederick A. Kruger died June 4, 2024 at the age of 89 in St. George,
UT. He was born March 19, 1935 in Bell, California to Frederick Frank
Kruger and Edna May Mahoney Kruger. He was raised in Downey,
California. He married Catherine K. Kruger April 21, 1979 in Montecito,
Santa Barbara County, California. They were sealed in the Los Angeles
Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint on October
2, 1981. They were married 45 years.
He Attended Orange Coast College and received an Associate Art
Degree. He was employed with a major oil company in Southern California.
He was a foreman on two oil platforms, Hazel and Hilda in the Channel
Islands of Santa Barbara and Ventura areas. Also, he was a Foreman
of Carpinteria gas plant in Santa Barbara county. Fred had a black
and a white hard hat and his crew knew what mood he was in by the
color of hat he wore that day.
Fred had many hobbies that he enjoyed photography, disco dancing
and was a master craftsman. He built several sailboats and after
retiring he built designer furniture. He loved to travel to the East Coast
enjoying the lighthouses and waterways.
Fred and Cathy served a mission in Detroit Michigan. He was
always willing to help people move or fix things that needed attention.
His service to others was a great blessing in his life.
He is survived by his wife Catherine, and two children, Fred A.
Kruger Jr. (Leona) and Janet L. Runge (Robert Medina) 7
grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM
with a viewing at 10:00 AM in the Bloomington Stake Center. 200 W
Brigham Rd. St George UT. Interment will be at the Tonaquint
Cemetery 1777 Dixie Drive under the direction of McMillan Mortuary.
