Gale "Bob" Townsend
May 19, 1932 — June 12, 2015
Gale “Bob” Townsend left his loving family on June 12, 2015. He was born May 19, 1932 in Sioux City, Iowa to William Dewey Townsend and Margaret Nielsen Townsend. His greatest love was Bonnie Baker Townsend who he married on June 4, 1955. Gale served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown during the Korean War. Bob graduated from University of Utah with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
He is survived by wife Bonnie, children; Cristy Townsend, Rob (Becky) Townsend, Dave (Denise) Townsend, Laurie (Wayne) Sherwood, and Bill (Julie) Townsend; three grandsons; six granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
Bob loved fishing, camping, golf, bowling, and travel, going out, dancing and family barbecues. He loved watching the Yankee’s on T.V. and the U of U football games. We will miss him.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
