St. George- Gary George Kuhlmann, beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend, passed away January 12, 2018, at the age of 59, in St. George, Utah, surrounded by his loving family after a 6-year battle with cancer.
Gary was born to LouAnn (Wheeler) and Anton G. Kuhlmann on February 10, 1958 in Miami, Florida. Gary graduated from Dixie High School in 1976 and went on to serve an LDS mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He graduated from Dixie College with high honors with an Associates of Arts degree in 1980. He then graduated from Utah State University, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors of Arts degree and a major in Business Administration in 1983. He finished his education at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU with a Jurist Doctorate degree in 1986. Gary served the City of St. George as the Deputy City Attorney and as City Attorney. Gary later went into private practice, opening his own law firm, Gary G. Kuhlmann & Associates, PC., the predecessor of the current law firm, Turner & Kuhlmann. While in private practice, Gary served as the Town Attorney for the towns of Brian Head, Leeds and Apple Valley, and as the City Attorney for Enoch City. Gary loved teaching, hunting, fishing, camping, drawing, and serving others. He was an amazing example of patience and love for others. He always gave more then he would take. He had a way of working with people that made them feel valued and important. He loved his family and would spend as much time as he could with them, especially his grandchildren, creating memories and sharing every aspect of his life with them as they grew.
Gary is survived by his father, Anton, his children: Jessica, Michael “Anton” (EJ), Nathan, Jared (Jessica), Nicholas (Bethany); his grandchildren who loved him dearly: Shelbi, Lukas, Katrina, Isabel, Dominic, Adrianna, Joshua, Tobias, with Vivian on the way, his siblings: Cathy (David), Peter (Suzanne), Toni Carol (Christopher), Maryann (Christopher), and Thomas (Leanne). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Emily, and mother, LouAnn.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday January 20, 2018 at 11:00 am, with a viewing from 9:00 to 10:30 am, at the Riesling Chapel located at 630 Riesling Ave, Santa Clara, Utah. Interment will be at the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
