Genevieve Katrina nee Lutz (Duensing) Udy departed this life at her home to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving day, November 28, 2013. She was born in Buhl, Idaho on April 16, 1916 to Henry Nicholus Lutz and Katrina Jane nee Christian Lutz. She was married to Herbert August Duensing followed by a second marriage to Roy W. Udy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two brothers Alvin and Robert, and one sister Phyllis. She is survived by two brothers Ed (Florence) Royal City, WA and Don and (Evelyn) Williamsburg, IA, and one sister Mary Ills (Armin) Phoenix, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by two daughters: Colleen nee Duensing Hanson and husband Edgar, McMinnville, Oregon and Joanne nee Duensign James, Washington, Utah. Also ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Genevieve was raised in Clover, Idaho and attended Trinity Lutheran Church and School. She love to work in the church especially teaching Sunday School and VBS.
She and her husband traveled a lot and rally enjoyed visiting friends and relatives along the way.
She loved to read, play pinochle and games and spent many hours crocheting. Her children and grandchildren were all recipients of her handiwork.
She was a person who loved the Lord and her daily devotions and prayers.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 11:00am at the Our Savior Lutheran Church located on 176 Count Fleet Rd. (off of Pioneer Rd.), St. George, UT.
Interment will be in the Riverside Utah Cemetery.
