Gerhard Paul Zeddies, 89, passed away peacefully April 16, 2017 at his home in St. George, Utah. He was born February 22, 1928 in Hamburg, Germany to Carl Zeddies and Agnes Becker. He was raised by his mom and step-father Julius Gahde. Gary lived a very eventful life and excelled at everything he did. He enjoyed working as a mechanical engineer, traveling, reading, cooking, and building and sailing boats. Gary loved and was loved by the many people he met at church and his neighbors while living in California, Washington, and Utah.
Gary married Ann Marie Sweetland on May 14, 1960 and lived in California for 35 years. Gary is survived by his wife Ann Marie, his daughters Monika, Barbara, Christa and Maria, 8 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters. He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Gayle Lynn, and his parents.
His children wish to say, “Thank you Dad for your love, caring, motivation, direction, and lessons about life.
The family would like to give special appreciation and thanks to many people in their ward and friends who came to visit and help this past year. Special thanks are given to Jodie and Brad Dallof, and Harlow Pickett who provided love and caring services during his final days at home.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the River Ridge Ward Foremaster building located at 912 S. 1740 E., St. George, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 am prior to the service.
