Glenn A Jorgenson

Glenn A Jorgenson, 93, June 15, 2023, in St. George, UT.  He was born July 15, 1929, in Manti, Utah to Ernest Jorgenson and Zina Peterson Jorgenson.  He was married to Laureen Fountaine. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 24, 1954.

Glenn grew up in and around Manti, Utah.  Upon turning 18, he served in the military, and then served a mission in Brazil for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1950 to 1952.  He received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Utah.  At the age of 40 he found his life’s work as a behavioral scientist with a focus on education and educators.  Over the course of his life he lived in Utah, Hawaii, and California.

Glenn was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church.  He loved spending time with his family.  He loved the ocean, hiking, growing flowering plants and fruit trees.  He loved Almondettes from Fernwood’s and Summertimes from See’s Candies.  Most of all he loved Laureen who passed away March 8, 2002.  Together they had 7 children: Eric, Karin, Kirk, Craig, Catherine, Todd, and Mark who passed away May 4, 2017.  In addition to his 6 surviving children, Glenn is survived by 27 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Manti City Cemetery located on Highway 89 near the Manti Utah Temple.  The interment will be under the direction of McMillan Mortuary.
