Guy William Larsen, 96, February 12, 2014 in St. George, Utah. He was born in Paul, Idaho on October 27th, 1917 to Clarence Oliver & Mary Jane Larsen.
As a young boy, he lived in various places, moving often until he settled in San Diego, California. He worked with his father at the Hotel Del Coronado as a young man and with family in a roofing business until settling on a career as a Teamster.
He married Eleanor Johansen in Chula Vista, California on June 24, 1938. They lived in Chula Vista during their married life and had 3 children. Janet & Bert live in St. George, Utah and David lives in Fullerton, California. Eleanor died at the young age of 46 in September 1966.
Guy served during WWII in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He married Zora Albright on July 27th, 1968 and they lived in Ft. Collins, Colorado until she passed away in 1996. He was stepfather to her 4 children.
He had a passion for music, gardening and canning the produce from his vegetable garden. He was born into an LDS family and elevated to the status of High Priest. The church was a big part of his life. He loved working in the LDS Temple, home teaching and many years ago, while living in Chula Vista, was instrumental in constructing the LDS church to which he belonged. He thoroughly enjoyed participating in the arthritis exercise class at the Sr. Center in St. George.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11:00am at the LDS Snow Canyon 6th Ward Chapel located at 1610 N. Dixie Downs Road, St. George, Utah.
Internment will be at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California.
