Harry Ernest Puttuck, age 90, of St. George, Utah died Saturday, January 5, 2013. Born December 8, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of the late Frederick G. Puttuck and Ellen M. (Prime) Puttuck.
Harry served in the 8 th Air Force in England during WW II.
He graduated from the University of Utah School of Mines and Mineral Industries in 1951. He worked as an exploration geologist and traveled extensively throughout his career, exploring for minerals in England, Spain, Portugal, The Philippines, South Africa, South America and Mexico.
Harry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Susanne Loewe Puttuck; daughters, Leslie Penello of Houston, Texas and Kim Cohee of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister Barbara Wheeler of Ellicott City, Maryland; grandchildren, Lesley Wilhelm and Ken Joyce; and two great grandchildren, Maliena and Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Fred and Arthur; two sisters, Beatrice and Olive; and a daughter, Monica Joyce.
Harry was known for his mining expertise, his quick wit, his charm, and his love of family.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers.
