J PAUL “PETE” WILSON

1934-2012

His sight repaired, his knee replaced, still he never failed to show when someone needed to play 3rd base. Our beloved “Pete” hit his last homerun April 14, 2012.

Born Aug 17, 1934 in Payson, UT to Jesse Earl “Pete” Wilson & Maxine Fairbanks Wilson. On February 7, 1953 Pete married his high school sweetheart Madeline Daley Wilson and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple and were blessed with 1 son and 3 daughters.

Pete was very passionate about life. Be it softball, horse racing, trap shooting, painting, pottery or his beloved rose garden, his enthusiasm was infectious.

Pete enjoyed his work as much as his hobbies. He worked fighting fires in Northern Idaho and had a long career with Mountain States Telephone/AT&T.

Pete and Madeline served in the Tulsa, Oklahoma mission and retired to live in St. George where he could play year round.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dick Wilson.

He is survived by his wife Madeline, children J Scott & Jeanie Wilson, Jane Ann & Steve Draper, Cora & Darrell Jolley, Karen Wilson & Barb Beckstrand, 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, and his sister Coralee Wilson.

Funeral Services will be held Friday April 20th, at 10:30 am with a viewing from 9am to 10am prior to the funeral at the Cottonmill Ward 1080 West Arlington St, Washington, Utah.

Interment will be at the Payson City Cemetery April 20, 2012. Graveside service at 4pm.
