Jaci Fisher age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in St George, Utah on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. She was born March 6, 1930 in Longmont, Colorado where her father was a National Park employee. She was the eldest child of Harry Glen Deeter and Ordelle Bernice Breffle. Her father was transferred to Death Valley in the late 1950s so he would have year round work.
She continued her schooling and eventually met her husband Lawrence Gene Fisher. Gene and Jaci moved to Las Vegas where she worked for the Las Vegas Sheriff's department as a dispatcher for a couple of years. In Las Vegas they raised their 4 children.
Around 1968 she was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She took the missionary discussions and was the first in her family to accept the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and at the time of her passing was the Matriarch of her Family of somewhere around 60 Latter Day Saints. Keeping track of her family and their growth and development was one of the great joys in her later years. She always wanted the best for her family, and always had the best advice for them on being successful. She had many struggles in her life and always felt she was a stronger person because of them. She will take with her to Paradise a great knowledge, and much love from her family and friends.
She enjoyed traveling, painting, journaling and crocheting, among other things. In her later life she prided herself with being an "independent domestic goddess". In the last 20 years she has lived in Mesquite, NV, Quartzite, AZ, Las Vegas, NV, Central Point, OR, and St. George, UT.
She is survived by 3 of her 4 children, David (bobbie) Fisher, Susan (Matt) Mixer and Steven (Karena) Fisher; 17 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 2 of her 4 siblings Paul and Bill Deeter and many beloved friends. Her parents, her husband Gene, her daughter Terri Lee, her sister Mary, and her sister Dolly precede her in death.
