James Joseph Dworak III lived a life that you’ve only read about in books. That feisty red head could have been a “Swash Buckling Pirate, a famous movie star, a Fred Astair, or Jerry Lewis”, and was often mistaken for Arnold Palmer. Instead he chose to be a father of two brilliant daughters, Linda and Valerie (Bryan), Lesli (Mike), Troy, and Suzanne; a grandfather to Adam and Dominic, Brian, Kevin, and Caralice, Becky and Wes; and 3 great-grandchildren, Baylee, Gabe, and Téa; a brother to Bette (Walt) and Richard (Adriana), and a great husband to Carole. His love extended to a special group of people who looked to him for wise council and guidance to achieve a better way to find happiness in God. Jim’s reward was simply knowing that he had helped change so many lives.
Jim was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 30, 1936 to loving parents, Ann and Jimmie Dworak. Though he was an athlete of many sports, his passion in life was playing golf. After graduation, he went on to serve in the Air National Guard and the Coast Guard. He received a Bachelors in Engineering from the University of Nebraska Omaha, and worked with the Army Corps of Engineers. Despite certain challenges in his life, he cherished the second chance to reconnect as a loving father and husband, while finding a God of his understanding. How good is that?!
In lieu of funeral services, his family extends an invitation to share memories of Jim at his home on Saturday, January 26, 2019 beginning at 1:00 pm.
