James Kennedy

Our loving son, brother, father, and uncle passed away peacefully on March 9, 2019 in St. George, Utah. James was born on December 28, 1967 to James H. and Merrilyn Kennedy in Salt Lake City, and grew up in Sandy, Utah. He is the youngest sibling to Gary Kennedy, Denise (Mark) Saunders, Teina (Dave) Pardue, and Jeannine Kennedy. James has two sons, Nick (Amber) and Brandon Kennedy, and daughters Misty Evans and Summer Brasher.

James was a free spirit with many talents. While enlisted in the US Army he was awarded with sharpshooter and hand grenade expert qualifications. He also received construction equipment operator training. He loved to move the earth, working construction as a “soil relocation technician”.

He adored the little ones, and they were always taken by his loving spirit. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and teaching the kids to shoot and fish.

James was lovingly cared for by his sister, Jeannine, during the most difficult time of his life. We cannot express our gratitude enough to her for her dedication and loving care she provided him. James is survived by his mother, and sisters, Teina and Jeannine, children, many loving Uncles, Aunts, Nieces and Nephews, and his cherished friend and soulmate, Sheila Montoya Corbett. He is preceded in death by his father, brother Gary and sister Denise.

A celebration of life will be held in Salt Lake, date to be determined.
