James D. (Chip) Macier, 55, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away with his family by his side on March 24, 2014.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1959, the fourth child of Gerald & Lois Macier. He married the love of his life, Beatrice Lynn on March 17, 1979. They had just celebrated 35 years of growing together. "Good bye my sweet love until we are together again."
Chip served for 6 years in the U.S. Navy. He worked at the Tooele Army Depot until it closed and the family decided to move to Southern Utah in the late 90's. He attended Dixie College and was the oldest student in his classes. After graduating with honors he worked as a mechanic for a few years, and then had the opportunity to open his own freight business, Legacy Freight, which he ran for the past 10 years.
He loved the outdoors and weekends would find him camping, 4-wheeling, boating and fishing with his family and friends. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
He is survived by his wife Beatrice, daughter Yvonne (Trevor) Fordham, 5 cherished grandchildren, his sister Sheila Kunes and brothers Jerry Macier and Tony Macier. He is preceded in death by his son Drew T. Macier, parents Gerald & Lois Macier, and mother in-law RaMon White.
Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Washington City Cemetery.
