Janice Lorrayne Gnagy
Washington City
After a short illness, Janice (Jan) Gnagy passed away on December 19, 2012, while a patient at Dixie Regional Hospital in St. George, Utah, with her husband Jon R. Gnagy clasping her hand.
Jan was born May 3, 1935, in Ridgefield, Washington, to Frank R. Johnston and Lorrayne (Gardner) Johnston.
Her schooling was primarily in Oregon. On October 7, 1989, she married Jon Gnagy in Ventura, California. In 1994 the couple moved to Washington, Utah.
Jan was employed primarily in the medical field, in record keeping. She also worked for United Blood Services in Ventura, California.
Her interests were varied. An avid reader, she could also be found at the computer, maintaining financial and medical insurance records, etc., and assisting Jon with letters and on-line research. She always looked forward to seeing the gals at Mike's Barber & Beauty Shop in Washington, and keeping in touch with very close friends near and far away. She was a genuine pleasure to be around.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud Patton, son Alan, daughter Cynthia, sister Glee Brown and brother Steven Lyle.
She is survived by her husband Jon, of the home, and her deeply-loved step-son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Jennifer Gnagy, and their wonderful children Kaitlyn, Faith, and Luke.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Drs. Larry Cain, Alberto Brizolara, Mustufa Saifee, and his partner Dr. Moon. They left no stone unturned in trying to save Jan's life
We will always feel a great debt of gratitude to the fine nursing staff of the 2 nd floor at DRMC. They were exceptional, always striving to make Jan comfortable.
Private services will be conducted later in California at Pine Mountain in the Los Padres National Forrest.
