Jaren Alan Martindale’s new life in paradise began on November 13, 2020. There was nobody like Jaren and his family, friends and every animal he ever met will miss him dearly. He loved deeply. He trusted unquestionably. He spoke softly but laughed loud. He was compassionate. He was caring. You could tell Jaren anything because you knew you would never be judged, just understood, accepted and loved. No matter what.
He loved French Bulldogs, visually stunning movies, dramatic sunsets, music with all the feels, a fresh sketch pad, orange juice, naps on naps on naps, his toes in the sand, good jokes and most of all, his 18 nieces and nephews.
Jaren was born on the first of September, 1976 in Bountiful, Utah. He was always restless and curious and couldn’t stop moving when he was young. That didn’t change when he became an adult. He lived in at least seven states with his favorite addresses being Honolulu, San Diego and Portland. He wanted to soak up the world around him and try it all. He made deep friendships and unforgettable memories everywhere he went.
He was a gifted artist blessed with an impeccable eye for color, an abstract mind and a steady hand. He perfected his craft at Savanah College of Art and Design and worked his watercolor magic every chance he had.
The ocean was his sanctuary. He would sit and stare at the sea for hours. His laughter was contagious and unstoppable. His impossibly blue eyes were deep and kind. Jaren’s faith was his guiding light through the ups and downs of his life. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served his mission in Detroit, Michigan. His trust in God gave him strength and his faith in the atonement gave him hope.
He is survived by his heartbroken parents, Doug and Maureen Martindale and siblings Ryan Martindale, Julia Boone, Derek Martindale, Aubrey Moon and Celeste Tribett who take solace in knowing Jaren felt how much he was loved. They look forward to the day when they can once again encircle him in a loving eternal embrace in paradise.
We thank everyone for their outpouring of love for Jaren and will memorialize him in a private family service due to current circumstances.
