Jason "Wade" Blackburn died unexpectedly on August 31, 2024. He was greeted home by his two nephews, Troy James (TJ) Blackburn and little Todd (Billy) Blackburn who he loved with all his heart.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Suzanne and two sons Alex (Jordan) and Aaron. As well as his mother Birdie Strong, father James Blackburn, brothers Todd Blackburn, Troy (Tina) Blackburn, and sisters Kari (Richard) Smith, Kim (Bryan) Santiago, and Jennifer (Scott F.) Blackburn along with his many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Wade was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Everyone who knew Wade knew he loved playing guitar. He could just pick up a guitar and start playing his music and everyone would flock around to listen to him play and sing his songs. Wade was very talented in so many ways. All he had to do was listen to a song on the radio and would say “yeah I can play that” then would pick up a guitar and learn it within a day or two. Wade also enjoyed playing the drums, bass, and banjo. He had a passion for music of all kinds.
Wade also loved hunting with his brothers and would look forward to their hunting trips every year.
Wade was a very loving and devoted husband and father. He would tell anyone who would listen “The best thing I ever did in my life was getting married and having kids”. Wade loved his wife Suzanne and would show his love for her in so many ways. His favorite thing was opening her car door for her and if she even tried to open the door herself he would run over and say, “How am I supposed to treat you like a lady if you don’t let me open your door?”
Wade loved his two sons Alex and Aaron. He loved spending time with them on his days off work. He loved taking them to the range for target practice as well as going fishing. He loved to mess around with the boys and whenever they would ask him a question, his response was always “google it”.
Wade was the best cook and grill master. He had a deep love for making people happy through the food he would make. Man, could he grill the best stakes! And he knew it too!
Wade adored his sweet mother, father, sisters, and brothers and loved to show off his old photos of them all.
Wade spent the last 16 years of his life working in the oil and gas industry working hard to provide for his family. He travelled extensively for work both domestically and internationally and loved telling stories of all the places he had been. He worked long hours in extreme weather and was really good at his job.
Wade loved his family and friends so much and will be so deeply missed by all.
