Jason Northrop

Jason Andrew Northrop passed away he was almost 51.

At the age of 5 he played catcher to his older brother, taking on 50+mph pitches which gained him advantages as a skilled player later on in his baseball and other sport activities.

He played youth football, baseball and soccer but it was hokey that fills his heart. He played it throughout his adult life.

Jason excelled in academics and was in many advanced classes throughout school. His compassion for the less fortunate got him into a few skirmishes when defending those that were often bullied on the school grounds. He always had a heart for the kid being picked on.

He was a trainer for the Tony Robbins life improvement seminars back in the early days.

This lead him to unique and inspiring coaching techniques for youth baseball and hokey. In the beginning it drove some parent nuts but in the end they loved the new self confidence and improved skills their boys and girls had acquired and the team performance and spirit that developed.  He coached his daughter and son which was the highlight of his coaching career.

As a skilled tile craftsman Jason ran a successful custom tile company in the Denver, CO area. On his time off he enjoyed the great outdoors. His father inspired Jason's adventurous pursuits by taking him and his brother out hiking, camping, fishing and hunting. The Colorado mountains have a special place in his heart. He also trained a Yellow lab and won high level field trials in Colorado (quite the challenge for that breed) before his dog Libby was 2 yrs old. He was on the cover of Field and Stream with Libby. One of his favorite childhood animals was an albino ferret named Ferret Fawcett. You'd never know what she would hide under the bed or inside a bed frame.

From a high intelligence level he had an insatiable desire to learn. He liked to talk about advanced and cutting edge science,We also chatted much about human behavior. One thing he understands well is people.  He was a quick wit and had a very quirky sense of humor.

His daughter Carli and son Colton were his motivation.

Religion for him was the fascinating topic. Subjects of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, His purpose, the misunderstandings about Him and His work. We talked of life before and after this life, Gospel history and much more. He became very interested in Family History or genealogy and we talked about the temple often, to which he had a powerful appetite to be in someday.

I'm going to miss him, his wisdom, powerful intellect and especially long winded conversations.
