Jeremiah Micah James Cooper passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the age of 31. Jeremiah was born March 31, 1985 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He moved to Utah when he was 8 years old. Jer attended Dixie High School and played football for the Dixie Flyers. After high school he worked with his older brother, Josh, as a landscaping foreman. Jer left for a summer job in the Solomon Islands in 2009 and quickly fell in love with the islands and his beautiful fiancé, Trish.

Jer carried a certain charm about him; a sort of raw honesty that people found relief in. He enjoyed making people laugh, sharing his knowledge, nurturing, exploring the rural earth, and hiking in it for hours. More than anything though, he passionately wanted to help people. We were blessed to have him back home the past couple of years to laugh with him again and to create more memories, which only emphasized why we loved him so much all along. We wish he could have seen himself through the eyes of the people who knew him. He would have liked what he saw.

He was proceeded in death by his fiancé, Trish Lafusi Taika. Jeremiah is survived by his father and mother, James and Deborah Cooper; brother Josh (Rachelle) Cooper; sister Kathleen (Siri) Cooper; brother John (Emilea) Cooper; sister Shelley Cooper; sister Mary (Tom) Whitehead; brother Joseph Cooper; brother Jacob Cooper, and his adoring nephews and nieces who he loved as if they were his own.

A celebration of Jer’s life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Gunlock Reservoir boat ramp at 12:00pm. If desired, friends may send condolences to 320 S 200 E, Ivins UT, 84738.
