Jess Oren Boots Jr. age 88, passed away June 22, 2013.
He was born November 13, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Jess Oren and Elizabeth Vandermass Boots.
He married Jeraldine Bartumek and they later divorced. He married Shirley Atkin in 1964, she passed away in 2008.He married Joan Rasmussen, his sweetheart in 2009, she passed away in 2012.
Jess served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked on the Apollo program and North American Aviation, retiring after 37 years in 1990. He and Shirley moved to Virgin to spend their retirement years. Jess loved clocks and woodworking.
His home is filled will many of his projects. Jess married his soul mate Joan in 2009. They spent four precious years filled with travel, camping, cruises and love. He was surrounded by Joan's children who loved him and accepted him as Dad.
He is survived by his brother Richard Boots of Cedar Rapid, Iowa, his son Michael (Kelly) Boots of Cedar Rapids, JoDeen Steedman of Hurricane, Cindy Rasmussen of LaVerkin, Becky (Brady) Brooke of LaVerkin, Garth Rasmussen of LaVerkin, Bret Rasmussen on St. George and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. at the Virgin Pioneer Memorial Cemetery.
