JoAn McBride, 85, passed May 26, 2023 in Washington, Utah. She was born March 13, 1938 in Denver, Colorado, to Henry and Virginia DeGroot.
She had three daughters while married to Lee Olmstead: Debbie, Deeana, and Patti. She added children Jack, Patty, and Jamie when she married Andy McBride in Northern California. She completed her final years with her husband, Bill Wallenfels, in Santa Clara, Utah.
JoAn grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho. Over her lifetime, she lived in Germany, California, Idaho, Colorado, and Utah. She was an artist that added color and spark to every encounter she had and she lived by her own set of rules. She was a worldwide traveler and adventurer. JoAn was a model of what true love looks like to her children. She was a memory maker through her avid love for photos or her love to create experiences. JoAn loved music. She played the drums in high school and simply lit up when she was dancing. She loved gardening, plants, and dogs. JoAn was a gutsy lady that was determined and that loved a good laugh. JoAn’s understanding and perception of those things that matter made her a beautiful woman, and made her a wonderful companion, wife, mother, grammy, sister, and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Wallenfels, children: Debbie (Lin) Drake, Deeana (Roy) Rose, Patti Marshall, Patty Costanzo, Jamie (Marna) McBride. Daughter-in-law; Lisa McBride.
