Joan Arabell McMillan Pinkosky, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend completed her earthly journey on March 28, 2015 at the age of 100.
Joan was born in Utica, NE. The youngest child of John and Etta McMillan. She had two sisters, Hazel Marie, Myrtle Alene and one brother who died at birth. After completing her formal education in Hebron, NE., she married Joseph Sobotka on Oct 16, 1932. They had one son, Harvey. They moved several times during their 23 years of marriage. She was skilled at many things, seamstress, welder, baker, cook, and mother. Joan was living in Southern California when she met and married Paul Pinkosky. Paul had three childern Donna Marie, Paticia Ann and Paul Jr. In 1968 they moved to St. George. Joan and Paul opened A Goodyear Tire store on Bluff Street. They became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints on Dec 13, 1969. They were sealed in the St. George Temple April 15,1971.
She is survived by her son Harvey Sobotka (Alpine UT), Donna Wheeler, Paticia Jensen and Paul Jr. (all of California) and many grand and great grand childern. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Pinkosky.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at LDS Stake Center, 1184 N Dixie Downs Rd, St George. The viewing will be held 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to services. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery.
