John Ahlrichs

John William Ahlrichs, Jr, age 79, passed away on December 25, 2014 at his home in St George, UT. He was born on May 24, 1935 in Salt Lake City, UT to John William Ahlrichs, Sr and Grace Elizabeth Ahlrichs. He married Maleta Ide Ahlrichs "Sugar", the true love of his life, at Fort Douglas Chapel in Salt Lake City, UT on August 31, 1956.
John was raised in Salt Lake City, UT and graduated with a BS degree in Geology at the University of Utah. He moved his wife and four kids to New Fairfield, CT in 1968 and resided there for 19 years working at Newmont Exploration, Danbury, CT. He moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1987 and retired in St George, UT in 1992.
He is survived by his wife: Sugar; Children: Chuck Ahlrichs and his wife, Andrea; Lizette Ahlrichs Constantinesco and her husband, Fred; Cara Ahlrichs Owens and her husband, Gary; David Ahlrichs and his wife, Vanessa: 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Brother: Tony Ahlrichs and his wife, Judy; Sister: Ann Ahlrichs Rogers and her husband, Dale.
He loved to golf, dance with his wife, workout at the gym and spend time with family and friends.
The memorial service was be held on Monday, Dec 29th at the Sun River Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association
