Joseph Gentry

Joseph Eldon Gentry, our brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend, who was loved by all of us, passed away unexpectedly at work on January 16, 2023.  He was 61 years old.

Joe was a very hard worker.  From the time he was just a young boy, he was always at the dairy farm, following his dad around, who was his idol.  He learned to work hard by hauling and stacking hay, and feeding and milking the cows.  He prided himself in a job well done.  He would work at the dairy farm before and after his full time jobs.  He single-handedly kept the farm going after his dad died, until the property was sold.

Joe was a very faithful employee, who almost never called in sick or took days off.  Every job he ever had, required a lot of heavy lifting.  He wouldn’t hesitate to humbly tell us that he was the hardest worker in the building!

Joe was an exercise guru extraordinaire, probably the best in all of St. George!  He did a work-out everyday, and was very creative in using weights and equipment in unique ways, constantly changing up his routines.

Joe had two great loves: basketball and baseball, and more specifically the Lakers and the Dodgers.  He had the best memory, and could recount specific plays, stats, and scores of any particular season.  If the General Management and coaches would have taken his advice, they would always be championship teams!

We thank Joe for all the tender care he has shown his mother these last few years.  We’re certain his father has welcomed him with open arms.  He will be greatly missed.

A private graveside service was held on January 27, 2023.
