Joseph Allen Gaskell, 35, died peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2011 at his home in West Jordan, with his wife beside him. He was born on June 4, 1976 in Portland, Oregon to Cheryl Harrington. Joey met his wife, Gina, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on June 21, 2002.
Joey fought a tremendous two year battle with leukemia, surviving infections and a brain injury along the way. He was an energetic, joyful man who easily made friends. He was always positive, worked hard, loved the outdoors, fishing and anything fast. His greatest love and attention was for his family. He owned a landscape company and was a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed helping those around him.
Joey is survived by his mother: Cheryl; his wife: Gina and his four children; Anastasia, Katina, Jace and Asher.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 am. at the “red brick church,” 274 S. 100 W. in Hurricane, Utah. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery.
