ST. George, Utah- Joseph William Stallings, Jr. (Joe/Bill/Papa Joe), 83, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2013 at 2:22 pm in St. George, Utah.
Born on March 17, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Joseph William and LaVerne Jensen Stallings. Attended Univ. of Utah, USC, Univ. of Calif. Berkley and UCLA, graduated from UCLA in 1958. Member of Tau Beta Phi (engineering). Worked at Hughes Aircraft Co. from 1958 until retirement in 1988.
Linda and Joe travelled extensively in their RV across the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Joseph loved the stock market, the outdoors, and most of all spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and especially loved to hide plastic bugs all over the house to scare Linda and the grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his wife Linda Stallings. His children Marc Stallings (Angie); Glenn Groves; Carrie Tripp (Jack); Kelli Hagen (Kelwin). 12 Grandchildren; Eryn, Brandi and Kassie Tripp; Michael, David and Christopher Groves; Jason and Timothy Fahsel; Kevin And Katelyn Stallings; Rider and Asher Hagen. 3 Great Grandchildren; Aiden and Faolan Stocks and Liam Fahsel.
Sparse memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel, 3519 Manzanita, St. George, Utah.Attendance not a big deal. Will not be a viewing.
