Joyce Harris, 83, currently of St. George, UT entered into heaven September 20, 2015. Joyce, nee Hoover, was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Born and raised in Kansas, she moved to Arizona in 1961 and settled in the Sedona-Verde Valley area from 1972 until her final move to Utah in 2010.
Joyce was the mother of one and a successful art gallery owner in Sedona. Her gallery, La Tienda, was a long standing gallery in Tlaquepaque Village. Joyce loved the beauty of Arizona and would spend hours in Oak Creek Canyon or on Mingus Mtn. Among her family she was known for opening her warm heart to children of all ages, especially her nieces and nephews. Joyce never a met a person she didn’t like and was an advocate for homeless pets. Joyce embraced her relationship with the Lord Jesus and was a faithful member of Emmanuel Fellowship in Cottonwood. Most of all, Joyce was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and all of us rise up and call her blessed (Prov. 31).
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Marion, of Kansas and three sisters; Barbara Conover of Ohio, Sandra Morgan and Betty Blackmon of Kansas. Joyce is survived by her daughter Annette Apple, granddaughter Heather Apple and great-grandchildren Nathanael, Bradley and Amaya, all of Utah. She is also survived by her former husband, Jim Harris of Arizona, her sister Marcia Moore of Kansas, her only brother, Kent Hoover of California and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 4:30pm at Bible Baptist Church, 2238 Sandy Lane, Las Vegas NV.
