St. George UT – Karen Jean Nelson, 61, passed away January 16, 2017 in Washington, UT. She was born October 19, 1955 in Fort Dix, New Jersey to Maurice Wilson and Anna Huster. She married the late Orin Nelson. They were married in Idaho Falls, ID on August 22, 1975.
Karen loved her children and grandchildren. She was passionate about traveling and improving herself in all aspects of life. She graduated from Dixie State University in 2015, fulfilling one of her lifelong goals.
She is survived by her father: Maurice Wilson; her siblings: Frank Wilson and Mary Burkett; her children: Travis Nelson, Mandee Nelson, Amberly Nelson, Derrick Nelson, Sabrina Nelson, Jared Nelson, Skyler Nelson, Hope Miller, and Bryson Miller; and her grandchildren; Kimberly Nelson, Hunter Nelson, Flynn Miller, and Kenneth Nelson.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1950 N Coral Canyon Blvd. Washington, UT 84780. A viewing will begin at 10:00am at the same location. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch in Ogden, Utah on January 23, 2017 at 10:00am.
